Tenses

  • Simple
    - Past : (v2)
    1. To use with a situation already occured and finnished; To have a point of time in the past
    Ex., I went to Phuket ten years ago.
    2. To describe a stituation in the past
    - Present : (V1: s,es)
    1. To use with the fact
    Ex., The Sun rises every morning.
    2. To use with something that usually occurs; Usually have a adverb of frequency
    Adverb of frequency : always, uaually, frequently, often, generally, seldom, never, scarely, hardly, rarely, occasionally, sometimes, from time to time
    - Future : (will, shall + V1)
    1. To use with a situation that will occur in the future.
    Ex., I will go back Thailand next year.
    *** All of these have the same meaning and can use for a simple future tense***
    verb to be + going to + V1 A change of occurring is 99-95%
    verb to be + about to + V1 A chance of occurring is 90-94%
    verb to be + V.ing A change of ocurring is 50%
    verb to be + to-inf. A change of occurring is below 50%
    will,shall + V1 Might be unreal

  • Continunous
    - Past : (was,were + V.ing)
    1. To use with a situation that stilled to be on going in the past.
    Ex., I was watching TV when Joe came here.
    - Present : (is/am/are + V.ing)
    1. To use with a siituation that stills to be on going in the present.
    Ex., I am cooking now.
    2. To use for a future meaning (Simple future tense) if there have a point of time.
    Ex., I am having a party tomorrow.
    - Future : (will,shall + be + V.ing)
    1. To use with a situation to will be occurring in the future.
    Ex., I will be watching TV at 8 o'clock tomorrow.

  • Perfact
    - Past : (had + V3)
    1. To use with a situation that happened before another situation in the past.
    Ex., I had slept before Mary came back home.
    - Present : (has,have + V3)
    1. To use with a situation that just finished; Usually have these adverb: just, already, yet, recently.
    Ex., I have just finished my homeworks.
    2. To use with a situation that happened since in the past until a present and will be on go on to the future.
    Ex., I have studied English since I was a student.
    - Future : (will,shall + have + V3)
    1. To use with a situation that will happen and finish in the future.
    Ex., The building
    will have finished the construction by the next year.

  • Present perfact continuous : (has,have + been + V.ing)
    1. To use with a situation that happened since the past until a present and will be go on to the future. (to stress a process > a result)
    Ex., I have been writing my papers since the morning.
